ASSOC DEAN & EXEC DIR INTERN'L PROGRAMS
Duties: Penn Law is one of the oldest and most distinguished law schools in the United States. We are a global law school, offering a full complement of curricular, extracurricular and professionally-oriented international programs. We offer a distinctive cross-disciplinary legal education, drawing on the depth and breadth of the University of Pennsylvania and boast a supportive intellectual community for our scholars and students alike. In close collaboration with the Deputy Dean for International Programs and with support of the Vice Dean for Administrative Services, the Associate Dean develops strategic plans and capitalizes on opportunities that ensure implementation of Penn Law's international strategies, collaborations, and programs.
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. M.D., Ph. D., Law degree or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The AD will have experience in program design and implementation and/or in managing cross-border partnerships. The AD must be able to pursue program goals while working with extremely diverse populations, including Penn Law faculty, staff, and students as well as external counterparts such as government representatives and foreign judicial officials. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to diversity and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, geographic, and experiential backgrounds; international experience and language(s) in addition to English are preferred. We seek candidates who have established track records as collaborators in the workplace, within the immediate department and within the larger institution. The successful candidate will demonstrate a creative bent and will be capable of representing Penn Law proudly in all manner of public and internal forums.
