Working Title: Fiscal Specialist 1-Student Financial Services

Job Summary/Essential Functions:

Eastern Washington University is seeking a detail-oriented individual for a Fiscal Specialist 1 position in Student Financial Services. The Fiscal Specialist 1 performs detailed fiscal work under general supervision of the Associate Director. The position uses an automated system to record accounts receivable information into the accounting system, initiates processing of complex cashiering transactions, receives, reconciles and enters activity for specific programs at Eastern Washington University and maintains and reconciles all purchasing activity for the Student Financial Services department. This position also maintains and archives all of the records for the department.

Conditions of Employment:

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of fiscal record keeping experience

Specific Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Associates Degree or equivalent credit hours in business related major
1-2 years excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word and Outlook)
Demonstrated successful experience working accurately with numbers
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Accounting experience in higher education

Experience working with Banner ERP system

Associate degree in Accounting
