The University of Connecticut is accepting applications for the full-time position of Program Assistant for its Women’s Basketball Program.  The responsibilities include: providing program support to the Basketball coaches and staff; filtering and responding to daily incoming calls and mail; filling autograph requests for coaching staff and players; assisting in coordinating and organizing donations for charity events; assisting with official and unofficial recruiting visits for prospective student-athletes; serving as the liaison to other Division of Athletics departments; maintaining JumpForward data base for recruits and alumnae; serving as the liaison for all former student-athletes; maintaining the alumnae Facebook page; mainintaing practice logs in JumpForward; assisting with student-athlete needs; assisting in greeting visitors; maintaining the data base and mailing appropriate correspondence to all alumnae and prospective student-athletes; carrying out special assignments and performing related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Women’s Basketball Administration.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to three years of experience in a college athletics administrative/office support position (within the past six years) utilizing knowledge of working with the unique needs of a coaching staff and the recruitment of collegiate student-athletes; knowledge and prior experience with the correct application of relevant NCAA rules and regulations; excellent computer skills including familiarity and demonstrated ability to use JumpForward, Facebook, and Shutterfly; and excellent organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  Five years (within the past seven years) experience in an administrative/office support (non-coaching) position with a Division I basketball office; direct experience coordinating alumni relations and individual recruiting travel; knowledge of the collegiate recruiting calendar; and previous experience coordinating meetings and providing office support for a Division I basketball program.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
