Assistant Director of the Career Development and Advising Center
Founded in 2005, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is the 31st member of the University System of Georgia. GGC is a premier 21st century four-year liberal arts institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The Assistant Director of the Career Development and Advising Center is a mid-level position in Student Affairs reporting to the Director of the Career Development and Advising Center (CDAC). CDAC works collaboratively with Academic Affairs, the Office of Development and other college departments to develop and manage a multi-pronged and integrated, campus-wide program to support students' educational to career success for an ever-changing global economy. Under the supervision of the Director of CDAC, the Assistant Director maintains center-wide responsibility for assessing and improving program effectiveness. In collaboration with the Associate Director, the Assistant Director manages the initiatives related to employer engagement with CDAC.
- Develop a multi-pronged program to effectively and efficiently connect students with internship, career and on-campus opportunities as well as graduate/professional school options. Assess effectiveness.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively with entities on campus including the Office of Institutional Advancement and faculty internship advisors to identify and solicit employer engagement with GGC students.
- Develop and implement effective and engaging methods to communicate opportunities to students.
- Serve as account manager to develop, nurture and maintain employer relationships.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with targeted employers, organizations and graduate/professional schools. Develop ongoing marketing strategies to bring greater visibility of the college to relevant employers and industries.
- Serve as liaison between employers and graduate/professional schools and all divisions at GGC to ensure cohesive and consistent relationships.
- Manage career fairs both on campus, with career consortiums, and virtually.
- Manage on-campus interviews, information sessions and related activities.
- Develop, implement and manage a career shadowing program.
- Develop, implement and manage programs, events and initiatives that bring employers and graduate/professional schools to campus.
- Represent CDAC by serving on various campus committees and serving as a representative in the community to promote the college, academic programs, and graduates.
- Manage the online job posting system and related online software programs.
- Collaborate with Associate Director of CDAC to maintain a vibrant online presence to engage employers and graduate/professional schools.
- Under the supervision of the Associate Director of CDAC, support students in all phases of career development individually and in groups.
- Collaborate with Associate Director of CDAC to develop and present workshops and seminars that promote professional presence as students interact with employers and graduate/professional schools using creative methodology.
- Manage employer and graduate/professional school resource materials.
- Participate in local, state, and regional meetings and professional associations, as appropriate.

Required: Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college/university required. Three or more years' experience in college or university career services.
Preferred: Master's degree.

Thorough understanding of and commitment to the goals and responsibilities of career services models and theories. Effective interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications. Ability to interact with all constituencies of a public college. Demonstrated competency in training and project management. Knowledge of career counseling and related theories. Experience with the use of career-related software programs specifically as they relate to campus interviewing, student/employer/job databases, resume referral, automated sign-up, and related activities.
