Job Description: The position’s function is assisting the Vice President for Student Services. Individuals who are beginning their career in student services should consider this an excellent position to gain valuable skills and practice their craft in a community college environment. This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to learn the total student experience: admissions, advising, community relations, events planning, financial aid, marketing, recruiting, registration, retention, student discipline testing, tutoring, and technology. The position will evaluate and report on these and other campus-wide functions and programs. The position requires exceptional skills managing data. The successful individual will have advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data and create new spreadsheets, to be used as decision-making tools. These tools will be used by the Administration for evaluating and updating College programs and services. The position will involve coordinating projects for new College products and services. Current projects include new programs for local area school districts, new programs for business and industry, and the construction and programming of the new College radio station, KSRK. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis techniques and procedures. Knowledge of department operations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Ability to plan and execute systems and organizational analysis and feasibility studies. Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews. Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports. Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops. Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in public administration, general business, or a related field. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE. Salary: Grade C115 on State Pay Plan; Entry: $29,251; this is a non-exempt position. Benefits: Southeast Arkansas College provides 11 holidays, 12 days of sick leave, and 12 days of annual vacation leave each year. The College offers a choice of retirement plan options with employer contributions ranging from 10% to 14% depending upon the plan selected.
