Duties: Individual will be the main HR contact person for Department of Surgery University positions, coordinating all HR functions for faculty, staff, and fellows in the Department of Surgery and its Divisions of S.A. Chop, Trauma, and Urology. In addition, this individual will provide administrative support to the Department of Surgery Faculty Affairs Coordinator. Coordinate, prepare and process Surgery SOM staff , post-doctoral and part-time appointments. Prepare reports and analyses related to staffing, visas, and other HR and payroll issues. Act as an HR liaison and coordinator for all SOM HR related issues for the Department. Prepare all new hire paperwork. Monitor compliance. Assist foreign born personnel and faculty with the completion of visa petitions while working with OIP. Develop and implement SOPs for the HR function. Provide administrative assistance for Research Administrative personnel.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelors in Business Administration preferred. Incumbent must be detail-oriented and have highly honed organization skills. Must portray excellent customer service skills - knowing how to interact with varying personalities and nationalities in phone, in person, and via e-mail/written communication. HR experience a plus. Incumbent must be able to show initiative and be able to prioritize commitments. Incumbent must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times; knowledge of PC applications required (Microsoft Excel/Word).
