Towson University is accepting applications for an Admissions Counselor to develop and foster good relationships with High School Guidance Counselors, Community College Advisors and Graduate events in an assigned geographic area. The Admissions Counselor will conduct professional information sessions, school visits and college fairs with Guidance Counselors, Transfer Coordinators, prospective students, and their families.
Responsibilities: Conduct in-state and out-of-state High School visits, college fairs, and specific events related to undergraduate student enrollment; review freshman and transfer student applications for admission to Towson University; conduct individual appointments with prospective undergraduate students and families interested in attending Towson University; conduct information sessions to student groups visiting the Towson campus; participate in on-campus events related to student recruitment; and other duties as assigned. This position requires evening and weekend hours, including travel both inside and outside the state of Maryland including overnights.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. The selected candidate must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; team player with a strong work ethic; proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access; and must have a valid US Driver’s License. Prior experience in a college admissions office or as a tour guide preferred. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
