Coastal Carolina University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. Coastal Carolina University is a public, mid-size, comprehensive liberal arts institution. Coastal Carolina University is located in Conway, South Carolina, just nine miles from the Atlantic coast resort Myrtle Beach, one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the nation. The university currently has an enrollment of approximately 9500 students. Coastal Carolina University is a part of the South Carolina system of public education and has close ties with its founding body, the Horry County Higher Education Commission. The University seeks an individual of vision and experience who will provide the direction and leadership to build on the existing base of outstanding activities in the College and to take it to new levels of accomplishment. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean is administratively responsible for planning, organizing, budgeting, coordinating, directing and evaluating the instructional, research, scholarly, creative and service activities of the College. The Dean will be expected to take a leadership role in recruiting and retaining students and faculty and to represent the needs and interest of the College to the University and the greater community. The successful candidate would normally be expected to have: * Experience and a demonstrated commitment and ability to participate effectively and successfully in external fund-raising; * An earned doctorate from an accredited institution with the credentials to be appointed to the faculty of one of the disciplines represented in the College; * An understanding and appreciation of the role of international programs within the context of undergraduate education; * Knowledge of and the ability to provide leadership for maintaining AACSB accreditation; * Strong commitment to academic excellence and the ability to articulate the University’s teacher-scholar faculty model; * A commitment to serve students and the ability to recruit and retain students of promise; * A commitment to understanding and responding to community needs and interests; * An understanding of and experience in furthering the role of graduate business programs including the MBA and MAcc degrees; * Progressive responsibility with demonstrated achievements in administrative positions; * A demonstrated commitment to support the ongoing professional development of faculty and staff colleagues; and * A commitment to developing online programs.
