Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork in accomplishing the mission and goals of the Department of Biomedical Sciences to include participating in the delivery of administrative support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Creates newsletters, seminar notices, and other publications. Assists with events sponsored by the department to include planning, logistics, and run errand such as providing transportation for event speakers on behalf of the College, requiring the operation of a motor vehicle. Sets-up, clean-up, and may be required to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours to cover scheduled events.

Serves as a travel representative for Biomedical Sciences. Processes and submits travel authorizations, gathers documentation and submits travel reimbursements. Makes all necessary travel arrangements to include hotel, flights, car rentals, etc. for faculty and staff for the department.

Provides assistance to Scientific Research Specialist in the processing of purchase orders and responsible for procurement of office supplies, tracking delivery of items, submission of documentation for payment and delivery which requires position incumbent to be able to move items up to 25 pounds. Responsible for departmental p-card assuring each purchase is in compliance with rules regarding P-card usage. Performs other related duties as required to assure the efficient operation of the office, including but not limited to, providing back-up assistance to support staff in the department in their absence or during peak work times.

High school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills
Experience operating applicable computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
Experience with basic filing systems
Experience performing accurately in a detail oriented environment
A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain
Ability to move up to 25 pounds

Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipate hiring in the mid to high $20's

Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.

Pay Plan
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
