This is a 9-months per year, academic year position.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions receives and processes nearly 20,000 applications yearly for students applying as first year students as well as transfers. Additionally, more than 50,000 people visit yearly to learn more about the university and tour the campus. The high volume of applicants and visitors require effective customer service and efficient processing systems.

The Admissions Assistant position will support 2-4 admissions officers in their travel planning and project planning support. Additionally, there is responsibility for processing a segment of the applicant pool that includes downloading, indexing, scanning paper documents and preparing the file for the appropriate reader bin. Specific responsibilities include:

•managing application processing and associated materials into the Slate administrative database for a segment of the applicant pool. This includes downloading files, matching credentials, indexing, proofing for completeness and sending to the appropriate reader bin;
•acting as primary point of contact for this segment of the pool for applicants, their parents and school counselors. Responsible for insuring data integrity of this portion of the applicant pool;
•handling travel planning and event/program planning. Includes contacting schools and scheduling and confirming appointments; investigating/confirming travel plans and hotels; packaging and sending admissions materials for admissions officer travel or college fairs staffed by alumni volunteers. On campus programming assistance will include space reservations, catering and general support to insure the success of the events;
•assisting with mail opening and scanning of paper credentials;
•assisting with mailings that include recruitment and applicant mailings; assist with mail opening;
•communicating with assigned alumni interviewing committees about college fairs and other information connected to applicants.



Basic Requirements:
High School diploma/ GED and 1-3 years of experience. Must successfully complete all appropriate background checks as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
High comfort level with technology and a willingness to embrace and learn new processes.
