Advisor Part-Time

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher. A minimum of three (3) years experience in financial aid, admissions, registrar, advising, testing, or marketing of higher education and recruitment of students required. - College Enrollment Services policies and procedures - Recruitment and retention strategies - Customer Service technologies and practices - College enrollment steps - Advising techniques - FERPA and other federal as well as state and local laws and regulations - Banner, Internet, Microsoft Word, telephone and fax machine - Strategies to build enrollment - Providing customer service - Review and interpretation of records and information within Banner - Written and verbal communication skills to articulate information - Counseling/advising interpersonal skills - Administrative and organizational skills - Solving issues and problems - Assessing issues and making recommendations for improvement

- Researches and resolves more difficult and complex student complaints and issues - Provides guidance to students seeking to begin or maintain their relationship with the college - Helps to ensure consistency of operations with college policies and practices - Provides a service to students and the general public by responding to a variety of inquiries and general requests for information - Resolve questions in regards to Financial Aid loans. Also assist students on financial aid policies, procedures and processes - Evaluate Dependency and Special Circumstance Appeals - Prepares for and participates in a variety of college/campus /community, task force, workshops, training sessions and conferences as assigned - Collaborates with other service areas to provide and improve services to students - Makes adjustments in anticipation of future imaging activities - Assists in administrating Aid Like A Paycheck (ALAP) and resolve questions in regards to Aid Like A Paycheck. - Helps students explore alternatives to overcome issues or problems that may be barriers to persistence or graduation - Assesses need for other services and makes appropriate referrals when necessary. - Performs other duties as assigned Additional Job Functions: - Meet with students to review and assist with completion of the federal application for Financial Aid. - Assist students and parents with inquiries over the phone.
