Advisor / Retention Specialist
Eastern Washington University's Chicano Education Program invites applications for an Advisor/Retention Specialist for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). This is a 100% time position that works 11 months each year. Under general direction, this position is responsible for providing the academic support services necessary to ensure the success and retention of students participating in the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions.
In this capacity, this position will organize and direct CAMP's peer mentoring/tutoring services including supervision of a Graduate Assistant, provide academic and student support services, assist with CAMP orientation programs, coordinate with the Academic Success Center/Learning Commons for English proficiency and Math assessments and other services, communicate with the faculty for CAMP students and the Math Department, and other related duties.
In the course of performing the position's duties, this position will have extensive involvement with students, staff and the public in carrying out program activities, and will coordinate, schedule and monitor program activities to determine consistency with program goals. Position reports directly to the Director of the CAMP.
