Box 9020; Tyler, Texas 75711 JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a 10 month professor position responsible to the dean, professional and technical programs and the professor, welding/department chair, industrial trades for the following: 1. Teaching theory and laboratory courses in power plant technology. 2. Preparing and maintaining course syllabi, objectives and student records. 3. Coordinating, developing and revision of competency-based curriculum. 4. Active involvement in curriculum evaluation and revisions, textbook selections and course outlines. 5. Assisting the power plant technology program in continuous improvement and in compliance with Texas Higher Education Coordination Board standards. 6. Recruiting and advising students in the power plant technology program. 7. Promoting the development and scheduling of continuing education courses. 8. Assuming duties, including advisory committee involvement and research as assigned. 9. Participation in departmental, College and related professional activities. 10. Performing other duties as assigned. 11. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate degree in welding required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2. Three years of work experience required. 3. Teaching experience in a community or technical college preferred.
