Allegheny College, a selective liberal arts college located in northwestern Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Gift Planning in the division of Development and Alumni Affairs. This position is a new full-time, exempt position that will strengthen a thriving planned giving program by assisting with communications and marketing, project administration, and educational programming. Responsibilities of the position include assisting with the development and implementation of a comprehensive system of communications for current and prospective bequest and life income donors; preparing and maintaining gift calculations, proposals and agreements; visiting with current and prospective donors; and serving as departmental resource regarding planned giving vehicles and tax and estate planning issues. The successful candidate will possess a broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising with specific understanding and comfort with planned giving vehicles such as bequests, charitable gift annuities and trusts, life insurance, real estate and personal property. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding written and verbal communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of fundraising or related experience is required, as is the ability to analyze, plan and execute projects with multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
