Pay Information
Range 22, $2,980.00 – $4,838.85, per month based on the current AFT Office Technical salary schedule. New employees will start on Step C ($3,285.45). Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (can accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. New employees to PERS will be required to pay 50% of their PERS Retirement costs. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment. The Position
Applications are currently being accepted for Administrative Technician in the Business Office, located at Miramar College. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department’s needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in handling and processing payroll (contract and/or hourly).
  • Effective written communication skills as shown by proper use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to work independently, complete assignments and meet deadlines with fluctuating priorities and frequent interruptions, while working in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operations of mainframe and microcomputers utilizing accounting information systems, databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Experience preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining complex, organized filing and records maintenance systems.
  • Ability to research and prepare internal reports.
  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty and staff, to communicate effectively, and the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Understanding of, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience handling general accounting functions.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in working with individuals of great diversity in socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.

    Conditions of Employment:
