Position: Visiting Professor

The Department of European Languages & Studies at the University of California, Irvine, seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach 5 quarter-length literature and language courses in French and English for the academic year 2014-2015.  The appointment will begin July 1, 2014 or later.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in French or Comparative Literature and possess native or near-native fluency in French.  Qualification to teach pre-1800 literature and culture preferred.  The successful candidate will also advise students about further study and careers in Francophone-related fields, participate in the lively intellectual activities of both the Program in French and the interdisciplinary Department of European Languages and Studies, and help coordinate events.
