Associate Dean, Teacher Education Program and Educator Preparation Institute
This position will serve in a management and leadership capacity reporting to the Dean of the Teacher Education Program as the individual responsible for the overall departmental operations in accordance with College policies, procedures, and contractual agreements, and in support of the overall plan of the College. This position will coordinate and administer all functions relating to students, scheduling, curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and financial considerations relating to the Teacher Education Program, and accomplishes such in accordance with the College's mission and College-wide goals and initiatives. Key position tasks also include providing high quality educational leadership, service and programs to a diverse community of learners. Performs other duties assigned. Minimum education: Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or related field and five years progressively responsible experience working with students, staff and faculty in a higher education institution required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Doctorate degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Knowledge and experience working with the Florida Department of Education and the School Board of Broward County is essential. Requires 3 years teaching experience at the postsecondary level, with a history of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings Excellent oral and written communication, financial management and budget design skills Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative research in higher education In-depth knowledge of the academic discipline(s) Minimum Certifications: Travel between campuses and local organizations may be required.
