CAMPUS VISIT COORDINATOR Department: Admissions Salary: $35,000 Job Summary Join an energized and innovative group in the Office of Admissions and work at Angelo State University! This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and is responsible for the campus visit program, recruitment for local area high school students, and commitment to the Office of Admissions. Duties Greet and check-in visitors for campus visit programs Coordinate daily campus tours including campus appointments (academic, athletic, and campus life) Coordinate high school group tours Coordinate weekend campus visit programs Create presentations associated with the campus visit programs Present information about Angelo State University for prospective students and their guests Manage campus visit marketing materials Supervise tour guide personnel Manage the tour guide schedule for daily campus tours Work collaboratively with current students, staff, and faculty to contribute to a successful campus visit program Enter prospective student information utilizing an electronic database Advise the RAMbassadors student volunteers Provide exceptional customer service to all students and guests Work with supervisor in analyzing application and enrollment trends in order to develop appropriate territory recruitment strategies; assessing effectiveness and adjusting strategies as necessary Traveling (at supervisors discretion) to attend recruitment events and make presentations to prospective and admitted students and parents at high schools, community colleges, and evening programs targeting new freshmen, transfer students, and other target populations as determined by supervisor Multitasking and managing daily responsibilities in our customer relationship management system Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of current admissions standards, college placement tests, curriculum prerequisites degree requirements, and restrictions and exceptions for potential undergraduate applicants Possess a generalist knowledge the Angelo State University student experience, and the ability to communicate the experience in a clear and concise manner Work together with supervisor and colleagues to execute best practices in territory management Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned local high schools and territories Leverage social media outlets to connect and communicate with students in assigned territory Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the University though high school visits, in-person appointments, phone calls, and/or emails Possess a strong understand of cultural competency and how to communicate effectively to different audiences Ensure all students are aware of deadlines, application procedures, and financial aid eligibility criteria Manage ongoing strategic communications with high school and independent counselors, including email, print, and other media Assist in the delivery of marketing materials for counseling groups and individuals Understand FAFSA deadlines, process, procedures, and changes in order to accurately advise students Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to: operate independently, exercising independent judgment and discretion and with little or no guidance, and to be able to make decisions on behalf of the Office of Admissions and the university that are appropriate, timely, and defensible; display strong organizational skills; communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, with individuals and large groups; quickly gain familiarity with university policies, procedures, and programs; work cooperatively as part of a team with a variety of people, including students, faculty, and administrators; promote activities using skills such as writing, advertising, and design; serve as liaison with other departments/institutions; explain and implement policies and procedures; Good knowledge of: a student centered/customer service oriented philosophy is essential; good management principles and practices and their application; techniques and procedures used in program development; developing, reporting and evaluating programs; knowledge and understanding of the structure and chain of responsibilities within a university; record keeping systems; public relations and marketing principles; use of automation in the workplace. Experience: compiling and analyzing information; identifying and defining problems/alternatives and developing recommendations; presenting information clearly and concisely; planning, organizing, and implementing workshops, programs, and conferences; extensive experience speaking publicly to small and large groups Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move 40 pounds. Valid driver's license. with a willingness to travel throughout the year and to work selected evenings and weekends. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Minimum of one year related experience Extensive customer service experience Organization skills with strong attention to detail Strong communication skills written, oral, and interpersonal Ability to multi-task Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience using Microsoft Outlook & Microsoft Office programs Familiarity with social media outlets i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree Experience working in higher education, prior recruitment and event planning responsibilities Experience using Ellucian software Fluent in Spanish
