Position Summary: The Michigan State University Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a fixed term teaching specialist position in mechanical engineering. This is a limited-term position with a three-year appointment. This position is renewable depending upon the teaching needs of the Department, availability of funds, and performance. The primary duties of this position are teaching and service. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching academic-year offerings of the ME capstone design class and mechanical engineering undergraduate courses in machine design, kinematics, manufacturing, dynamics, vibrations and controls as needed. The anticipated teaching load will be three courses per semester during the academic year.

A master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely equivalent. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with undergraduate students effectively and teach mechanical engineering courses that include undergraduate courses in machine design, kinematics, manufacturing, dynamics, vibrations, controls.
