Position Summary: Provides independent professional support of moderate complexity in one or more of the following information technology areas: software development, customer support, systems administration, systems software support, hardware support, communications network support, or a related technical area. More specifically, develops Web-based applications and designs, assembles and codes/encrypts data for database development and application; maintains database administration; participates in data statistical analysis; provides programming and maintenance of department Web site; provides data security of clinical and research related data; coordinates video development and production/editing/application; provides instruction on information technology including all mobile application programming and data base modeling. This position is located at the Sparrow Professional Building, Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI.

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational or business school such as an associate's degree in computer technology or information systems, with coursework in an information technology related area; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX and MySQLi programming languages and MySQL database schema design, data management, and creation of database indexes and stored procedures/views; experience in dimensional modeling and data mining including data reporting; experience in basic computer networking terminologies including domain, TCP/IP, HTTPS, SSL and DNS; experience with Linux Web hosting environment, phpMyAdmin and SFTP; experience with Web security including XSS prevention methods and data encryption using MD5 hash, blowfish, salt and crypt functions; experience integrating Google charts and Morris charts API with PHP, JavaScript and MySQL languages, along with intuitive and interactive web UI design and development and optimization of code for mobile devices; experience working with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with content management system systems such as Joomla; experience with Adobe Dreamweaver, Notepad++ or similar code editing software; experience with professional video editing software such as Adobe After effects, Final Cut Pro or similar video editing software; experience in processes including requirements gathering, technical documentation, application testing, integration testing and validation; experience creating interfaces with Bootstrap library; use of up-to-date methods for writing code with comments and an intuitive structure; experience with semantic database modeling approach; experience in creating WCAG 2.0 AA compliant Web sites; experience with cloud collaboration software such as drop box, Google docs, OneDrive or similar cloud storage and distant collaboration software; experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar photo editing software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Microsoft certified solutions associate (MCSA) in SQL Server with ample knowledge of writing database queries, administering databases and analyzing data; knowledge of Microsoft Access; Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas; communication, organization, and technical self-learning skills; ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and deliver effective user support.
