Position Summary: FRIB is searching for an Engineering/Physicist Accelerator I to join the FRIB Project Team; the successful candidate will conduct measurements on Superconducting Radio-Frequency (SRF) cavities and ancillary components for the Superconducting Radio Frequency Department of the FRIB project, adhering to the appropriate test and safety procedures; conduct RF measurements of SRF cavities and ancillary components during fabrication, surface preparations, and Dewar certification steps (Frequency, Loaded Q, Coupling & Transmission Coefficients); maintain measurement records which are periodically reviewed by line management - measurements to be performed as described in procedures established by the FRIB project and endorsed by line management; conduct additional bench RF measurements as quality checks for cavities and ancillary components.

Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four-year college program in engineering or engineering technology; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the Superconducting Radio Frequency systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to work with export controlled items.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Experience with electronic measurement equipment, such as vector network analyzers, RF signal generators, power meters, and high power amplifiers; experience in large-scale SRF cavity development and processing techniques.
