Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:

Provides technical expertise in producing artwork, layouts and reproduction originals using a variety of production mediums. Develops and produces art media production and desktop publishing materials utilizing current electronic methods. Provides artwork, hand letters, dry mounts, laminates, etc. to produce a variety of brochures, transparencies, signs/posters, slides and other instructional and/or promotional materials. Develops systematic graphic and print production processes such as job intake, proofreading, production scheduling and job archiving. Responds to requests from administration, faculty and staff concerning graphic design in order to convey message desired to a wide range of audiences. Interface with printers to solve complicated design/printing problems. Responsible for selection of types of paper, inks and varnishes that will be utilized at all times considering cost impact in producing the printed materials. Identifies vendors such as suppliers and/or printers. Solicits print job specifications and proposals from vendors.
Assists in the video production and photography departments when necessary. Prepare cost estimates; may assist in preparation of budget.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or higher in graphic art production plus three years of experience in graphic art production including computer graphics applications and desktop publishing or Associate's degree or higher in graphic art production plus five years of experience in graphic art production including computer graphics applications and desktop publishing or graduation from high school or equivalent plus some formal training in graphic art production plus seven years of experience in graphic art production including computer graphics applications and desktop publishing. Ability to operate a variety of graphics equipment and conceptualize graphics required. Knowledge of Mac and PC platforms and how they interface. Knowledge of graphic programs used for both web and print
media such as PhotoShop, Quark, PageMaker, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator and the ability
to learn to use software used in work area and perform processing activities. Ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience in providing effective customer service. Official transcripts will be required.
