Assistant Instructor - CNM
Posting Description: Seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) for a Per-Diem, hourly position (~12 hrs/month)($45/hr), to provide antepartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care as Per-Diem Clinical Faculty at the Women's Correctional Facility in El Paso County. Duties include: 1. Performs accurate history and physical examinations 2. Provides antepartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care to women inmates including ordering and evaluation of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications. 3. Provides individualized client teaching and counseling utilizing evidence based practice. 4. Identifies deviations from normal and consults as needed. 5. Completes necessary documentation. 6. Instructs and supervises students and other learners as assigned. 7. Performs other duties as assigned to include use of ultrasound. Minimum Qualifications: * Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery * Current certification in specialty area, as appropriate to position * Colorado RN and APN licensure or eligibility * Current clinical expertise in specialty area * 1 year experience providing antepartum, postpartum, well woman and gynecological care * Prescriptive Authority & DEA * BLS Certification
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Considerable degree of independent judgment is necessary to monitor and respond to changes in a client's condition. * Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and other members of the health care team. * This is a normal client care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious disease.
Desired Qualifications: * Experience with mood disorders and addiction preferred * Spanish/English speaking
