The Office of Development at Towson University is seeking a Director of Major Gifts to fundraise with a focus on soliciting major gifts at the $10,000+ level.

 

Responsibilities: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects with an emphasis on alumni and donors to a designated college within the University; document activities through contact reports; attend and participate in development meetings, college faculty meetings, and campus wide events; and provide input for planning events and advisory boards as needed.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, preferably in major gift fundraising or related field. Candidates with annual fund experience seeking to transition to major gift work will be considered. Advanced degree and experience in a university setting is preferred. The selected candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, and a collegial, productive manner.  

 

Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.

 

Salary: Competitive salary and full University benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 14 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission. This position is contingent on funds being available at the time of hire.
