Assistant Professor of Plant Sciences
The selected individual will direct the State Barley Breeding program, including varietal testing and development. This person must be able to establish productive programs in both varietal development and scholarly research related to barley breeding and genetics. Teaching responsibilities will include classroom instruction, graduate student training, and undergraduate advising. Expected accomplishments include publication in refereed journals, the receipt of funding from external sources, and release of improved barley varieties. A PH.D. degree in Plant Breeding, Genetics, or related field 2. Experience in planting design and implementation of field research 3. Experience with modern techniques in plant breeding and genetics 4. A record of publication in refereed journals Preferred: 1. A record of participation in plant breeding research 2. Postdoctoral research experience in plant genetics or related field 3. Potential for teaching excellence 4. Potential for development of a competitively-funded scholarly research program 5.
