Key accountabilities that are part of the role: Finance Responsible for preparation of financial reports to Senior Management. Responsible for managing the finance functions of multi-campus Higher Education Institutions. Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed. Oversee cash and asset management. Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships. Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans. Planning and Policy Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets. Prepare/analyze and coordinate information for internal and external audits. Responsible for timely filing of all state and federal regulatory forms. Develop financial business plans and forecasts. Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the Senior Management Team. Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, public officials, etc. Recommend allocation of resources. Monitor contract and lease preparation. Provide advice and counsel to management regarding the organization's major objectives and management of fiscal policies. Accounting, Administration and Tax Oversee the accounting department of 4 persons to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions. Responsible for statutory and GAAP reporting of all other financial aspects, including cash management, banking, insurance, AR/ AP, fixed assets, general ledger, consolidations of operating locations, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, period end reporting and annual audits. Balance Sheet reconciliations. Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in accordance with Navitas Group policies. Manage tax function to ensure minimization of tax liabilities and exposures. Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. Complete financial component of annual IPEDS report Approve check requisitions, PO requisitions, and select invoices for payment weekly. Miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned Requirements CPA or MBA and/or an equivalent combination of education and 8 years' experience in financial management setting with at least 5 years of supervisory experience. MINIMUM of 8 - 10 years in private, for-profit education Must also have experience in handling revenues from multiple sources. Extensive financial and budget management experience in a Higher Education Institution. Extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS. Extensive knowledge of Higher Education Regulatory requirements. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels and a culturally diverse population. Hands-on experience with high level, multi-year financial modelling and analysis, supporting strategic plans with multiple interdependencies and competing priorities. Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies. Ability to work with minimum supervision, to begin projects independently (or as assigned), and to bring projects (or assignments) to conclusion on a timely basis. Ability to interact and work successfully with faculty, students and staff as related to job responsibilities. Experience of reporting in a Matrix structure. Ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
