Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:

Assist with the management and support of the Districts compensation system, performs analysis of compensation data, reviews/classifies positions and generates reports. Review complex job descriptions and recommends appropriate classification based on job specifications, campus comparisons, desk audits and compliance with FLSA standards. Research, gather and analyze data to determine appropriate salary range/band and job family for new positions. Process Human Resources Department transaction requests such as the revision/creation of new positions, wage/salary analysis and changes in classification or employment status for full-time, part-time and/or temporary personnel. Develop strategic initiatives, reporting systems to improve administrative procedures, workflow efficiencies, and/or the alignment of programs to achieve DCCCD strategic goals. Maintain records and ensure that appropriate job descriptions are maintained for all positions. Prepare cost estimates for individual or groups of jobs. Research best practices for compensation in Higher Education. Prepare financial impact and trend analysis reports related to compensation practices. Maintain websites for accessing compensation information and job descriptions. Provide interpretation of DCCCD compensation policies and guidelines. Serves as the secondary contact for the department in working with outside agencies and consultants in compensation matters. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

May occasionally be required to lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.

Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years' experience in compensation analysis or Associate's degree plus seven years' experience in compensation analysis. Advanced knowledge and application of Excel and statistical applications required. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, create presentations and generate reports. Must have the ability to use metrics and models to understand current salary trends and/or predict future trends. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines (DCCCD, FLSA, etc.). Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to be able to deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals from diverse background. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check.*
