The Senior Curriculum and Assessment Developer works with other members of the Curriculum and Assessment team as well as the Chief Academic Officer to ensure that these project-based learning activities are successfully developed under tight time constraints and to rigorous quality standards. The Senior Curriculum and Assessment Developer plays a hands-on role in developing assessment and curriculum and also helps manage the curriculum and assessment development process. In addition, he or she assists with mentoring, guiding and training less experienced members of the Curriculum and Assessment Development team.


Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:


  • Writes and reviews project-based learning activities (including instructions and rubrics)
 
  • Manages curriculum and assessment development processes
 
  • Writes and reviews supplemental guidance for evaluators of student submissions
 
  • Helps guide, mentor and train less experienced members of the team
 
  • Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify core concepts for assessment and to ensure all curriculum and assessment is accurate and up-to-date
 
  • Works with Chief Academic Officer and members of Curriculum and Assessment Development team to develop specifications for curriculum and assessment development
 
  • Works with Manager of the Feedback Center and evaluators of student work to pilot test new curriculum and assessment
 
  • Serves as curriculum and assessment resource for other members of CfA staff, especially learning Coaches

The successful applicant must have:


  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 7 years relevant experience
 
  • Experience managing teams and/or projects
 
  • Experience developing assessment and/or curriculum
 
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
 
  • Creativity and inventiveness
 
  • Attention to detail
 
  • Understanding of assessment principles
 
  • Ability to work well under tight time constraints and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
