The largest private university in New Jersey, FDU is a not-for-profit, nonsectarian, multicampus institution. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Chief Operating Officer, the Associate Vice President for Finance is responsible for planning, directing and monitoring the financial activities of the university including financial and tax reporting, accounting, budgeting, credit and collections, student loan repayment, and purchasing. Acts as liaison with the external auditors, brokers, granting agencies, et al. The Associate Vice President for Finance assists the Senior Vice President for Finance and Chief Operating Officer with financial planning and forecasting, evaluating financial performance against university objectives, investing and banking activities and relationships, and financing activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA and audit experience strongly preferred. MBA degree preferred. 2. Minimum of five years of experience in progressively responsible management positions, including university budgeting, financial management and purchasing. 3. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills. 4. Must demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, and ability to work effectively with various teams. 5. Knowledge of information technology systems, spreadsheet proficiency, and familiarity with other software applications. 6. Valid driver's license and accessibility to transportation for travel between campuses. 7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
