FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Psychology of the City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer to begin September 2014.  The College, located in Harlem, serves a highly diverse student body.  The CCNY Psychology Department has a longstanding commitment to providing its undergraduate and graduate students with an outstanding education and career services.  The ideal candidate is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, primarily at an introductory level, providing academic and career advisement to students, and developing and supervising student internships/placements in business settings.  Preference is given to candidates experienced in teaching at the interface of psychology and business, including courses in industrial and organizational psychology, personnel psychology, and marketing and consumer research.  The annual load is 27 contact hours per year (averaging 13.5 hours per week each semester).  Reappointment in this position for five years confers a CUNY Certificate of Continuous Employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for the Lecturer title.  M.A. or M.S. in Psychology or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience at the college level preferred.  Evidence of and commitment to excellence in teaching are required.  The candidate should also be able to work effectively in a diverse student and faculty environment.
