Newswriting Lab Assistant
Placement Range: $11.00 - $12.10
General Description: This position will assist the Pioneer staff and journalism faculty in any tasks which are consistent with and/or related to those listed under job duties.
Minimum Education/Experience: Enrolled in last year of an associate degree program in journalism or broadcasting OR Currently enrolled as a journalism or broadcast news major (or related field) at a four-year college or university. Must have at least one semester of experience working in college or university student media, or in a commercial news operation such as a newspaper or television news outlet. Must have a portfolio of published stories that can be brought to a job interview.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be computer proficient, preferably in Macintosh Knowledge of software applications Knowledge of AP style Good communication skills Good human relations skills Good writing skills, including grammar, punctuation and spelling. Basic knowledge of photography. Some knowledge of web page design.
