Strayer University seeks a full-time faculty member in the area of HUM/RELIGION. Candidates MUST have an earned a doctorate.

The following criteria must be met to apply:

Candidates have at least three years of teaching at the university level to include instruction, curriculum development, writing across the curriculum experience, leadership roles, and a strong interest and an ability to contribute to department initiatives.

Only applicants with a completed doctorate degree will be considered.

Preference for candidates will be given to faculty who meet the following criteria.

•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
•A history of Outstanding audits
•History of promoting critical thinking in the classroom
•History of connecting course content in meaningful ways
•History of engagement in the classroom
•Timeliness in grading
•Possess team player/team leader attitude
•Ability to contribute and share articles, inform on current events
•Three (3) years minimum of online teaching in their subject area, and at least five years of related work experience
•Provide excellent service to the university


The criteria for full-time faculty selection at Strayer University conforms to the policy outlined in the University's Full-Time Hiring policy with several additional requirements to ensure that its candidates meet the needs and skill-sets required to function in a virtual environment. Strayer University strives to hire the most qualified candidates for its full-time faculty positions as evidenced by their educational credentials, professional experience, and teaching experience.

Full-time faculty are required to teach four classes per quarter, participate in tutoring, advising, faculty mentoring, serve as subject matter experts for course and curriculum development, and participate on department committees. Faculty are required to respond to students within 24 hours resulting in flexible office.
