Responsibilities
The Intercultural Programs Coordinator is responsible for the Center for Global Engagement's intercultural programs designed to promote increased understanding and awareness among different cultures as well as to facilitate interaction between domestic and international students. The Coordinator supervises a Graduate Assistant and four Student Assistants who work as a team to develop and implement intercultural programs as well as provide logistical support to the Beyond Borders Cultural Exchange program and university exchange programs.

60% - Develop and implement new and existing intercultural programs to include a variety of social, cultural, educational, experiential, and service opportunities for domestic and international students. Such programs will meet the requirements for the Global Pathways Certificate and also provide for increased interaction between international and domestic students. Provide direct oversight and coordination of the CGE's established programs including: Intercultural Programs Series, English Conversation Club, and the annual International Bazaar. Contribute to the planning and implementation of International Coffee Hour and Global Caf. Serve on the CGE's Intercultural Programs and Exchanges leadership team to develop new and innovative programs as well as serve on campus-wide programming committees for events such as International Education Week and new student orientation. Supervise Graduate Assistant for Intercultural Programs as well as Student Assistants to develop and provide support to the CGE's programs and events.

20% - Provide support to the Beyond Borders Cultural Exchange program for both inbound and outbound students and provide logistical support for inbound university exchange students. Oversee hosting arrangements and provide logistical support during the hosting of visiting Beyond Borders groups from Jamaica and Germany as well as Higher Education interns from the University of the West Indies. Develop itineraries for inbound groups to include educational, experiential, and service opportunities. Organize travel arrangements for outbound Beyond Borders groups to include group flights, in-country travel, and insurance as well as ensure completion of required pre-departure documents. Assist with Beyond Borders academic classes for FSU outbound students and provide support to Beyond Borders Team Leaders.

10% - Oversee the development and maintenance of CGE websites, calendars, publications, list-serv and social media for the above programs and implement effective marketing and publicity strategies to increase the visibility of CGE programs in particular and the CGE's mission in general. Organize tabling and presentation events with Graduate Assistant and Student Assistants. Supervise a Social Media intern to provide an effective social media presence for the CGE's programs.

5% - Contribute to the planning and organization of events and workshops for international students such as campus tours and welcome programs. Organize day trips for new international students to surrounding areas and in the community.

5% - Attend all major CGE functions and DSA functions as required, serve on CGE and DSA committees as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Master's degree in international education, higher education administration, or closely related field.
At least one year of experience with campus programming and event planning.
At least one year of supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with various populations at FSU.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred
Experience working in an international education office.
Experience living, studying, or working abroad.
Experience with group travel planning and itineraries.

Anticipated Salary Range
$33,000-$36,000

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
