The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure track position in Political Theory at the Assistant Professor level beginning in fall 2015. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Political Science before September 2015.

We are especially interested in broadly educated teacher-scholars in political theory, including American political thought and the history of political theory, as well as other areas of interest and expertise. The successful candidate will teach a range of lower and upper division courses. There are opportunities to teach abroad or in Washington DC during summers and January intersessions.

Candidates must be fully committed to liberal arts education and excel in teaching and advising. Candidates must also demonstrate a significant and interesting scholarly agenda, and will be expected to engage in service at the departmental, college, and university levels. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester.
