Loyola University New Orleans, a leading Catholic, Jesuit comprehensive university invites applications for its Director of Admissions and, separately, for a Director of Operations position. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, these positions are two of four key members on the senior enrollment management leadership team for the university. DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS Supervising 15 professionals, the Director of Admissions should be “ambitious for the institution” with experience in leading a team in successfully setting and achieving enrollment goals. As part of a campus-wide commitment to recruitment efforts, the Director will bring new ideas to Loyola and will lead the effort to increase enrollment and sustain academic profile by developing, implementing, and executing dynamic recruitment and admission strategies for undergraduate students. The Director will fully contribute in recruitment efforts through the management of his/her own geographic territory. Desired Qualifications for Director of Admissions: The successful candidate for Director of Admissions should possess: • Progressive responsibility and proven success in recruitment of domestic first-year and transfer students, as well as international students • Demonstrated knowledge of and application of current recruitment issues and practices directed toward the successful enrollment of undergraduate classes • Demonstrated experience in cultivating diverse prospect populations • Acuity in planning; creative and intelligent problem-solving • Vigilant in admitting students able to succeed • Strong belief in collaborative efforts within the enrollment management team and with other administrative and faculty areas • A strategic, data-driven approach to admissions and financial aid with a sophisticated understanding of data and analytics • An understanding of developing and implementing financial aid strategy • Dedication to campus relations and ability to educate and engage faculty and staff in enrollment events, practices and strategies • Ability to partner and lead in all marketing and communications, from print to social media • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and lead staff with an eagerness to support and mentor direct reports • A commitment to the core mission of the University as a Jesuit Institution and to liberal arts education • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Propensity to be a good listener and a strong storyteller • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS The Director will develop and oversee an enrollment management operations center in support of Loyola’s undergraduate admissions functions. This position is responsible for a comprehensive workflow across units associated with the enrollment process with a commitment to superior internal and external communications and on-going efficiencies and effectiveness. The director will manage enrollment data and operations while serving as the primary liaison to the University’s information technology office, financial aid, student records and student billing teams. He/she will assist and mentor internal staff by administering end user support for the various technologies utilized within the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. Directly supervising a staff of three, the Director will coordinate the design, implementation and maintenance of an effective CRM (Slate) and other viable technologies. The Director will act as project manager and developer for enrollment processes and systems (i.e., database testing, new technology initiatives, data loads, etc.). In addition to coordinating with outside vendors providing search, fulfillment, and mail-house services, the Director will assume leadership on unit report writing and data analysis. The position will coordinate communications associated with the new student enrollment process, interfacing with various campus offices to create a seamless transition at the time of matriculation. Desired Qualifications for Director of Operations: • Progressive experience and demonstrated ability in database management, research, and analysis in admissions or other higher education function • Extensive knowledge and experience with the execution and management of student records and CRM information systems; experience with Slate will be a plus • Ability to design, produce, track, analyze and interpret statistical data for admissions and enrollment on-going decision making • Proven success in managing and coordinating multiple concurrent projects • Goal-oriented with strong initiative, imagination and organizational qualities • Strong belief in collaborative efforts within the enrollment management team and with other administrative and faculty areas • Strength in providing support and training to functional experts • Effective liaison between information technology and enrollment staffs • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and lead staff with skills in fostering a spirit of cooperation to accomplish common goals • A commitment to the core mission of the University as a Jesuit institution and to liberal arts education • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred LOYOLA UNIVERSITY NEW ORLEANS: Founded in 1912, Loyola’s rich history as a Jesuit and Catholic institution of higher education is grounded in intellectual rigor and reflects the 450-year old Ignatian tradition.
