SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Serve as a team leader for the Financial Aid Counselors working with senior management to identify training needs as well as creation of new workflows and process; Assist management and assignment of daily work by running queries and working on special projects including reviewing reports, adjusting awards, troubleshooting issues, etc; Counsel and advise students on financial aid eligibility and various financial aid programs. Serve as primary point of contact for evening in person student services; Serve as the chair of either the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) or Professional Judgment (PJ) committee; Assist in student recruitment and retention activities; attend open house events to offer support and guidance to prospective students; Maintain current knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations pertaining to financial aid; Other job-related duties as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning 2 (two) years of experience in financial aid Strong communications skills, written and verbal Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures Analytical and problem solving skills Attention to detail PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with PeopleSoft Customer service experience Ability to relate to a diverse population of students, parents, and staff
