Job Description:

The Admission Department at Wittenberg University is currently recruiting for a full-time Admission Counselor.

In this role, the Admission Counselor will have primary responsibility for designing a recruitment plan for assigned geographic territories and special populations and assessing the demographic and enrollment trends of these groups of students. Recruitment goals are expected to be established and met.

Additionally, the Admission Counselor will:

  • Meet individually with prospective students and advise them on the college search and the financial aid and scholarship processes.
  • Review student applications for admission and make recommendations on their admittance status and scholarship offers.
  • Advise prospective students of degree offerings and requirements.
  • Create and implement a travel schedule to include high school visits, college fairs, receptions and meetings.
  • Correspond and follow-up with students.
  • Other duties as assigned.


A Bachelor’s degree is required or knowledge of specialized principles or techniques equivalent to that which would normally be obtained through a formal four-year college/university academic program or an in-depth specialized training program directly related to the type of work being performed. 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrate an ability to handle multiple tasks.  Adaptability to learning and using technology is critical to this role, as is the ability to successfully represent Wittenberg both internally and externally to a variety of constituents.

Candidates must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license.  Evening and weekend work as needed.
