Cottey College seeks nominations and candidates for an extraordinary opportunity to lead a financially strong and well–positioned independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women. Owned by the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization, Cottey’s mission is to educate women to lead socially responsible lives in a global society.  This opportunity follows the announced retirement of Dr. Judy Rogers after 10 years of extraordinary service and leadership. The next president will have the opportunity to inspire students, lead dedicated colleagues, and bring Cottey to national prominence.

Cottey has an exceptional reputation as a two-year independent college preparing women for further academic study, careers, and lives of social responsibility. The College recently began offering four-year baccalaureate degrees in English, Business, Environmental Studies, International Relations and Business, Liberal Arts and Psychology.  The academic program is offered by a strong full-time faculty with over 90 percent holding the PhD or a terminal degree.  The Serenbetz Institute for Women’s Leadership, Social Responsibility, and Global Awareness ensures that the College’s vision achieves new heights in the college’s four-year programs.

Cottey just completed a comprehensive campaign raising $40.4 million for scholarships, endowed faculty chairs, library enhancement, a fine arts building, and unrestricted funds.  Its endowment is just short of $100 million and the College continues to be debt-free.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader committed to women’s education and prepared to strategically build Cottey’s future. The unique heritage and relationship to the P.E.O. Sisterhood requires an appreciation of the work of P.E.O. in supporting women’s education and its stewardship of Cottey College.
