The Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) at the University of Maryland, College Park was created in order to respond to the significant changes brought about by increasing use of advanced technologies in the transportation field. A permanent staff of ITS professionals and affiliated faculty of the Department of Civil Engineering supports the CATT. All offer extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of ITS technology, traffic engineering and control, systems analysis, and operations research. CATT provides an organizational umbrella for five major initiatives including CapWIN, CATT Lab, CITE, MD T2 Center, and MATOC. http://www.catt.umd.edu/index.php The purpose of the Consortium for ITS Training and Education (CITE) is to create an integrated advanced transportation training and education program. The program is open to anyone pursuing a career in advanced transportation. CITE’s audience includes both industry professionals and graduate students. Training courses for continuing education units are available directly through CITE for an enrollment fee whereas graduate level for-credit courses are offered through CITE university partners. http://www.citeconsortium.org/index.html Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Consortium for ITS Training and Education (CITE)is searching for a part-time eLearning Programmer/Developer to work with our instructional designer to program and design eLearning courses; manage interface design; and manage and maintain learning content. The eLearning Programmer/Developer will work with full time instructional designers to design, develop, deploy, and manage new and existing eLearning courses. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Demonstrate and foster design innovation. • Adhere to 508 Compliancy standards, requirements and tagging. • Participate in the design of responsive training and/or performance support solutions in accordance with assigned schedules. • Use best practices in evaluation and systems training. • Participate in the development of eLearning storyboards • Use LMSs to manage content. Minimum Qualifications: • Strong knowledge and experience with HTML • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate and work effectively with subject matter experts and team members • Understanding of the software development life cycle • Demonstrate knowledge of ISD/ADDIE/SAT methods. • Experience with Section 508 compliance. • Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with eLearning and graphic design and development tools, specifically Adobe Captivate and Flash • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) – both proprietary and open source Preferences: • Knowledge of ATutor open source LMS • Knowledge of and experience with HTML 5 • Knowledge of and experience with responsive Web design Additional Certifications: This is a part-time position, paid on an hourly basis. Hourly rate will be negotiated based on experience.
