Posting Description: *Examples of Work Performed:*
This position will implement new technologies as directed by the IT manager for all Police department divisions. Implements new processes for new technologies to fit Departmental needs. Searches for new IT solutions to meet department objectives and to maximize IT efficiency. Position must be proficient with bench repairs, adjustments, and part replacement for the computers used among the departments. The position must ensure compliance with all professional and campus standards for the management of information systems in critical environments. Knowledge of and competency with SQL 2008 and Server 2008 software packages is extremely important in this role.
Functions as a point of contact for the Kronos electronic centralized time management software that interfaces with People Soft and uses Access Control badges for time keeping. This position will administer the work rules and pay codes so data is not lost or misread between the two programs.
Supports many proprietary software packages including: C-Cure, smart card/ biometrics, and the CCTV system for Electronic Security; ARMS for Police dispatching and records, etc. - Software and hardware failure or interruptions can occur during nights, weekends, and holidays so being able to remotely access, diagnose and resolve an issue is critical. A deep understanding of the operating systems, the applications and the associated hardware is critical to resolving problems with software as they arise.
Maintains secure web site for the department. Position will provide web design and maintenance as well as coordination of links to other pages require a deep understanding of the foundation software as well as the needs of each component of the Security and Police Departments. Being able to adjust data to accommodate all data is a typical challenge in website maintenance.
Administers network accounts for department users and computers by creating Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Organizational Units (OUs) in the Active Directory after user and computer security needs. Reviews results of implementing the GPOs in the OUs and modifies parameters as needed. Administers login scripts, roaming profiles, etc., Also, administers accounts for C-Cure and maintains the Electronic Security system.
Performs all aspects of hardware/software installation/troubleshooting for all workstations, and servers. Installs/maintains and upgrades for all hardware and software. Position provides for repair of all department servers, workstations and peripheral equipment, including printers, scanners, faxes, PDAs, etc. Protects IT assets from attack by viruses, worms, backdoors and other malicious codes; assures compliance with software licensing agreements and University Policies.
In addition to security functions on the Anschutz Medical Campus, the Police Department has 6 machines operating 16 monitors on the Denver Campus. We also have several recorders for our security cameras. If a machine goes down, the security guards cannot watch the cameras and security system; this necessitates an immediate response downtown. Additionally, position may need to travel to other off-site locations, including vendor warehouses, to pick up parts, ship devices via UPS, and provide support as needed. Therefore, this position must possess a current, valid driver's license in order to travel between sites, and must obtain a Colorado driver's license within 30 days (if current license is out of state) to utilize the Security Division's university issued truck to haul equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: *Minimum Qualifications:* 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field. Closely related desktop support and/or server experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis. 2. One year of professional information technology experience configuring, troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software for computers, servers and/or other technology.
*Necessary Special Qualifications:* Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license and must obtain a Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire (if current license is out of state).
*Conditions of Employment:* * Must be willing and able to provide off-hour phone contact information to be accessible during non-work hours in case of emergencies. * Must be willing and able to pass a Civilian Police Department Background Check which will include: Personnel History Questionnaire, Integrity Interview, Polygraph, Finger Print Check, Drug Screen, Credit/Civil Check, Criminal History and Driving Infractions Check, and Reference Checks.
