Posting Description: The College of Nursing at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for an open rank faculty position of Clinical Instructor with expertise in a specialty area. Available positions in the Undergraduate program include Clinical Instructor for Medical-Surgical nursing, Clinical Instructor for Psych/Mental Health nursing, Clinical Instructor for Pediatric nursing, Clinical Instructor for Community / Public Health nursing, and Clinical Instructor for Obstetrical nursing. Full time and Part Time positions will are available.
Typical responsibilities would include supervising groups of students in a clinical setting. Participation in Service to the College of Nursing and scholarship are expected of all faculty. Minimum qualifications include a master's degree and recent clinical experience. National certification in a specialty area is desired but not required.
Practice at the College of Nursing is based on years of innovation and excellence, rooted largely in our recognition as the birthplace of nurse practitioner education. We are national leaders in nurse-managed care. Our federally qualified health center, Sheridan Health Services, provides an integrated, patient-centered care model for persons of all ages. Our nationally renowned midwifery practices include behavioral health as well as water birth. With regard to clinical education, we were one of the 15 pilot schools to test learning activities for the Quality and Safety Education in Nursing initiative. The college also was one of six schools to test interprofessional learning activities in the "Retooling for Quality and Safety" initiative spearheaded by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), its Open School, and Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation.
Our research mission has two primary foci: biobehavioral science and health care systems. The college's faculty are engaged in bold steps to move to team-based science, develop team-based areas of excellence, speed the development of new knowledge through diverse funding mechanisms, and accelerate the application of research through innovative academic-practice partnerships.
The University of Colorado College of Nursing is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. We also have a new location in Parker, Colorado. Clinical affiliates on the Anschutz campus include the University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center, all of whom are renowned leaders in theory-guided and evidence-based practice, use of information technology, and translational research with diverse clinical populations. An NIH funded Clinical Translational Science Institute also offers many opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration in research with colleagues throughout the University of Colorado system and communities in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Minimum Qualifications: * A bachelor's in nursing and master's degree in nursing, a related nursing specialty * Eligible for Colorado registered nurse license * Recent clinical experience

Desired Qualifications: * Teaching experience in higher education * National certification in a specialty area or 3-5 years specialty experience
