Working Title: Instructional Technology Support Analyst

Posting Information: WCU is looking for a multi-talented, forward thinking, Instructional Computing Analyst who will be a member of the Instructional Technology and Desktop Services department. This position serves as a front line technical support resource responsible for setting up, supporting and maintaining classroom technology, videoconference, and lecture capture systems used in IT's Video Services facility, classrooms or conference rooms at WCU. This includes videoconferencing, IT Video Services, lecture capture, and Tele-meeting sessions facilitated from any classrooms, the IT Video Services facility, or other technology enhanced rooms at WCU. Duties will include supporting classroom technology and video conferencing as well as supporting new and emerging technology & trends such as software video conferencing with GoToMeeting and Skype, and utilizing traditional video recording and film-making methodologies to prepare materials for presentations ahead of time. This position will function at the Contributing Competency Level.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in computer science, information technology or related area and one year in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in computer science or information technology or related degree. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.

Preferred Qualifications: -2 years of experience supporting instructional technology/AV systems used for instruction -2 years of experience supporting videoconferencing equipment and services -2 years of experience supporting Apple and Microsoft PC platforms -2 years of experience supporting Apple and Microsoft software applications, including the latest operating systems and Office/iWork software packages -Experience with lecture capture systems -Experience with software based videoconference systems such as GoToMeeting/Skype -Detail-oriented individual with proven successful ability to work effectively under pressure where conditions require the ability to handle multiple tasks and varying priorities in a classroom environment -Prior experience working for an IT support organization in a technical capacity -Ability to research and learn new skills and technologies as needed and at a rapid pace -Knowledge and experience with software imaging -Experience with video-based technologies and film-making principles -Experience with Project Management principles and processes
