Assistant Professor of Dance
Dean College's Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Dance. We seek candidates who are outstanding educators with a passion for providing transformational and experiential learning experiences for our students, and who also have the energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to help advance the Dance program. This is a 10 month, full time position renewable yearly. The ideal candidate will teach an average of five classes a semester. These include 3-4 traditional technique classes in Horton, Graham, Dunham, Cunningham and/or Limon technique, as well as additional classes in history, composition, senior seminar, and other lecture classes depending on expertise. In addition, the candidate will produce and choreograph for concerts, take part in auditions and other recruitment efforts, and participate in school meetings and all-faculty and college events. We are looking for a team player and collaborator with a record of creative and scholarly work who is passionate about teaching and training students. Required Skills and Experience: An earned MFA in Dance and/ or significant professional dance experience is preferred, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Significant training and practice in traditional dance technique is essential. College teaching and experience teaching students with diverse learning styles is essential. The successful candidate will have an aptitude for working collaboratively and possess strong leadership skills. Experience with course management systems (i.e., Moodle) and instructional technology is essential. To Apply: Interested applicants should submit the following application materials.
