Instructor or Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (Tenure Track)
Tenure-track position to provide quality and innovative instruction in Criminal Justice. Normal teaching load is 15 hours per semester, including day, evening, off-campus, and online courses. The successful candidate will effectively mentor students, including assisting with advising and registration; supply professional leadership in curriculum development; serve as program director for Criminal Justice, and sponsor or co-sponsor the Criminal Justice Society; continue professional development; support the college learning philosophy with a willingness to embrace and use an array of technologies to support student learning; perform other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Criminal Justice with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice is required; Ph.D. in Criminal Justice preferred. Also preferred is experience in community college and online teaching. Candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Candidate must comply with established Lamar State College-Orange standards and policies. This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
