Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:

Responsible for the Financial Aid organization which include management, administration and strategic direction of financial aid programs offered by the DCCCD. Responsible for the management of departmental activities to include planning and development of systems and procedures to improve quality and efficiency of the department. Interprets, instructs and communicates policies and procedures of DCCCD and regulations of local, state and federal agencies to ensure compliance. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures. Responsible for the support and guidance to staff in the performance of their daily job duties. Estimates and manages activity levels; establishes work schedules and assignments.
Monitors and develops management criteria to determine optimal customer service. Responsible for evaluation, implementation and execution of all existing as well as new and emerging electronic technologies. Responsible for correct interpretation, implementation and communication of financial aid information in accordance with local, state and federal regulations, financial aid and business office polices/procedures, and DCCCD Board policies as they apply to student financial aid. Coordinates with information technology (IT) to ensure the accuracy of all information entered into the system. Supervision: Responsible for the selection, training, coaching, evaluation and development of assigned staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of experience in financial aid or related industry or Associate's degree plus eight years of experience in financial aid or related industry. Two years supervisory experience required. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to support interaction with staff and/or students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to utilize computer technology to input/access data, maintain records, review and generate reports. Must be detailed oriented. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service. Official transcripts will be required.
