Job Summary: Will perform the following duties: * The incumbent is responsible for the promotion, administration, support, and staff of the OSU-OKC Online Classroom and ITV broadcasts. * As a Distance Education Coordinator, the incumbent will work with a high degree of independence, initiative, and responsibility. * The incumbent will supervise a group of professionals who are tasked with managing and supporting the OSU-OKC distance education programs and courses. $2842 monthly, plus generous benefit package Special Instructions to Applicants: * Interviews, supervises, and trains new departmental staff. * Assists the Technology Support Center staff to ensure student and faculty issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. * Conducts training, seminars, and professional development courses, as needed, for end users and customers. * Manages the activities and support of the OSU-OKC/Online Course help desk system. * Keeps up to date on the emerging technologies that may benefit the institution and/or the students. * Compiles weekly reports to analyze departmental needs and/or training services that need to be offered through OSU-OKC. * Ensures timely communication on system wide issues and/or upgrades to key stakeholders throughout the organization. * Designs, develops, and promotes customized OSU-OKC documentation. * Develops, maintains, and supports online orientation for both faculty and students. * Participates in the university's instructional design activities. * Writes policies, procedures, FAQ, and manuals specifically tailored for the Online College at OSU-OKC. * Continually updates skills relative to the position and the technology industry. * Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment with occasional work in finish construction environments. Most work done during the day but must be flexible and able to work nights and weekends when needed. Physical Requirements: The position will require lifting of up to 50 lbs, proper handling of computer and network components, use of hands in repetitive actions, simple grasping, and fine manipulation. Experience include: * Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Instructional Technology or closely related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education. * 3-5 years of experience working in higher education * 3-5 years of experience training a diverse and highly educated body of learners * Experience in directing and managing multiple projects, tasks, and expert support staff Must have skills in these areas: * 3-5 years experience working with Desire2Learn, WebCT, Blackboard, or other course management system software * Computer proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and MS Viso * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical, organizational and collaboration skills * Proven self-starter with demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies quickly * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Experience with instructional design and group training presentations * Proven problem solver with attention to detail * Knowledge and ability to influence others to embrace academic technologies * Ability to perform effectively under pressure with a multiple project deadlines Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelors' degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Instructional Technology or closely related field * 5-7 years of experience managing or supervising a group of highly skilled professionals * Previous help desk support or management experience * Experience facilitating online communications and/or marketing * Expertise in MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio Applications accepted online only at http://jobs.okstate.edu.
