FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Public Administration Unit of the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department invites applications for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

In addition to teaching a wide variety of courses in the areas of criminal justice, public policy and administration, police science, and paralegal studies, the position entails performing administrative and guidance duties to include the following:
- Develops and maintains an active research and publication agenda.
- Provides academic support and guidance to students.
- Research and grant development.
- Assumes responsibility on unit, department, and college-wide committees including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
- Develops curricula and participates in assessment projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

The following qualifications are preferred:
- 1 year of successful teaching on the undergraduate level
- Evidence of scholarly promise
- Public administration/policy expertise or experience
- Interest in innovative pedagogical strategies, including instructional technology
- Commitment to teaching in an urban college with a diverse and multicultural community
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
