Position Summary: Assist associate directors in the hiring, training, and supervision of student staff at IM Sports West; provides on-site event supervision and training as needed; assists or assumes responsibility for the late afternoon, evening, and select weekend operations of IM Sports West and serves as a resource for all other intramural facilities; will be responsible for all evening supervision of facilities, staff, and participants; will assist in the planning, implementing, and supervision of special events that occur within department facilities; assists with risk management training and certifications and select competitive intramural sports.

Support Staff: Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in physical education, sports management, or kinesiology; two years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in recreational facilities management; experience in risk management, facility supervision, and CPR/FA/BBP certifications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Master's degree or progress towards one; supervisory experience; excellent written and verbal communication skill; excellent organizational and planning skills; experience with public relations; ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on customer service; detail-oriented with ability to make decisions; ability to respond to difficult situations that arise and can handle responding to emergencies with good protocol and communication skills; experience in event coordination, personnel administration, and/or managing recreational activities; ability to manage student staff and administer recreational programs; ability to handle conflict resolution with ease and to communicate cross-culturally; ability to work with an intercultural clientele, lead a team of student staff and to work directly with students.
