Position Summary: Teach a two-credit hour freshman study skills course, UAEC 200, required of all UA Early College students. Adheres to the SACS accredited process for delivery, instruction, grading, and oversight of UAEC 200 course per University of Alabama academic standards. This position is a non-tenure earning, 3-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. Continuation to the end of the three year contract is based on annual evaluation, departmental need and available funding.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a master's degree in English, education, instructional technology, communications, business, or related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 1-year teaching experience. Requires excellent teaching and communications skills, ability to plan, develop, and administer academic course delivery. Requires flexibility to work day, night, weekends, and occasional travel from Tuscaloosa, AL. Prefer Ed.D. or Ph. D. degree in English, education, instructional technology, or related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 1 year online teaching experience in Blackboard. Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of high school-age students and educators.
