Allegheny College, a national liberal arts college celebrating its bicentennial in 2015, seeks a creative, dynamic and accomplished leader to assume the newly-reconfigured position of Dean/Director of Admissions. He/she will be a key member of an enrollment team that includes admissions, student financial services, communications, college relations, strategic marketing, brand and positioning. The Position: Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment and College Relations, the Dean/Director of Admissions will provide expert direction and creative leadership consistent with the College’s liberal arts mission and strategic initiatives. He/she will manage and inspire a dynamic team of sixteen professionals, overseeing the administration of the office and making data-informed decisions in allocating staff and financial resources to achieve recruitment and enrollment goals. The Dean/Director of Admissions will serve as a passionate and articulate spokesperson for Allegheny across campus and beyond. Qualifications: Essential attributes include demonstrated skill in managing, leading, inspiring and mentoring staff; awareness of market and societal trends affecting undergraduates at selective institutions; competency in data analysis; familiarity with current technologies (e.g. CRM) and trends; a keen understanding of the critical role that financial aid plays in an enrollment management program; excellent organizational and planning skills; and exemplary relationship-building skills with both internal and external constituents. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the experience and personality to support the Vice President of Enrollment and College Relations and Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications in developing and implementing initiatives which will continue to enhance the college’s visibility and recognition in a highly-competitive landscape. Desirable personal qualities include: a collaborative style, a sense of humor, personal charisma, energy, optimism, resilience and a willingness to consider new ideas.
